Firewood in Innisfil

Innisfil strikes a balance between urban and rural communities, with one of the biggest industries being tourism. Fairwood Firewood supplies seasoned firewood Innisfil residents and business owners can use for bonfires, wood ovens, and indoor or outdoor fireplaces. We offer hardwood firewood mixes, including maple, birch, and oak, in various sizes and volumes. All Fairwood Firewood firewood comes from Muskoka and Bancroft sustainable forests. Once we receive the logs, we cut, split, and season the wood. Letting the wood air dry on skids to prevent mold, moisture and rot.

What Size Firewood in Innisfil is Right for Me?

What sets Fairwood Firewood Innisfil firewood apart from the competition is our commitment to using firewood units that comply with Canadian regulations. Other companies often use unrecognized measurements such as face cord, which typically means less firewood than a standard cord. Fairwood Firewood uses a firewood processor that guarantees accurate cubic yards bags.

  • Cubic yard bags are ideal for residential use. Relax indoors by a fireplace or have an outdoor bonfire with family.
  • Skids are good for both residential and commercial fires. We deliver skids to your choice of location, whether it’s at your doorstep or a commercial warehouse.
  • Our Innisfil firewood delivery by the truckload is perfect for commercial businesses that need to order firewood in bulk. Order early to ensure availability.

How Much Innisfil Firewood Should I Order?

For a 1,000-square-foot home, you’ll typically need around three cords of firewood to get through the winter, though this can vary depending on how frequently you use it. If you’re in Newmarket and unsure of how much wood to order, feel free to give us a call—our team is happy to help!

10% More Firewood in Each Face Cord

Fairwood Firewood uses a Posch Firewood Separator to increase kindling separation by 10%, resulting in 10% more firewood compared to our competitors. We also use a moisture meter to ensure our Innisfil firewood has no more or less than 15%-20% moisture. Firewood that’s too wet produces more smoke and less heat. If it’s too dry, the fire will burn quickly and generate far more sparks.

What Is a Face Cord of Wood?

A face cord of wood is a term used to describe a specific measurement of a stack of wood. It is a common measurement used for firewood, but it can also refer to other kinds of wood, such as lumber. Different types of wood in a face cord can alter the overall volume as the size and shape of the wood changes. However, the face cord dimensions remain the same.

How Big Is a Cord of Wood?

A face cord of wood measures 4 feet high by 8 feet long. The depth of a face cord varies between 12 to 18 inches. At Fairwood Firewood, our face cord firewood is 4’ x 8’ x 14”. The overall volume is about 37.3 cubic feet.

    Face Cord vs. Full Cord

A full cord, like a face cord, is another measurement used for a stack of wood. Here are the differences between the two:

    • Face Cord – A face cord of wood is one-third the size of a full cord. It supplies a sufficient amount of firewood for residential or commercial use. This includes homes, cottages, restaurants, hotels, and resorts.
    • Full Cord – A full cord of wood contains three rows of stacked wood, each measuring 4 feet high by 8 feet long and between 12 and 18 inches deep. The total depth of a full cord ranges from 36” to 54”. At Fairwood Firewood, our full cords measure 4’ x 8’ x 42”.

    Frequently Asked Questions

At Fairwood Firewood, a face cord of firewood costs $200 per skid. After taxes, delivery expenses, and possible discounts, the final cost can vary. Delivery costs are based on distance. We deliver all throughout southern Ontario, including Toronto, Muskoka, Kawartha Lakes, and Oshawa.

A full cord of firewood at Fairwood Firewood costs $600 per 3 skids. However, the final cost can vary depending on promotions, shipping costs, and taxes.

One full cord contains about 3 face cords. While the height and length of a full cord remain the same as one face cord, the depth changes from 14” to 42”.

On average, a face cord of firewood lasts between 3 and 4 weeks. However, this varies depending on the amount of firewood you use at once, how often you use it, and what you use the firewood for. In contrast, a full cord of firewood may last 8 to 12 weeks.

Yes, a face cord typically fits in the back of a pickup truck. The average truck bed is between 6.5 and 8 feet long and a face cord is 8 feet long. If your truck is under 8 feet long, you’ll need to carefully re-stack the wood to make it fit without compromising the near view window.

It’s called a face cord because it measures the same height and length as a full cord but has a shorter depth measurement. As one face cord equals 1/3 or a full cord, it’s the “face” of the cord.

What is a Full Cord of Firewood?

A full cord of firewood is a standard volume measurement for stacked wood. One full cord equals approximately 128 stacked cubic feet. At Fairwood Firewood, we supply a full cord across three skids of seasoned, 14-inch split hardwood.

The weight varies by wood species and moisture content, but a seasoned hardwood full cord typically weighs between 3,000 and 5,000 lb. This gives you a substantial supply for regular fires, cottage use, or stocking up for the season.

How Much Does a Full Cord of Firewood Cost in Ontario?

The price of a full cord of firewood in Ontario depends on the hardwood mix, seasoning and drying time, log length, whether the wood is supplied loose or organized on skids, and delivery distance.

As a general guide, seasoned mixed hardwood costs around $500 to $600 per full cord before delivery and HST.

    Face Cord vs. Full Cord

A face cord and a full cord both measure 4 feet high by 8 feet long, but they contain different amounts of firewood because of the stack depth.

At Fairwood Firewood, one face cord is supplied on a single skid of 14-inch split hardwood. A full cord includes three skids – equivalent to about three face cords – making it a better choice for frequent fires, cottage use, wood stoves, or seasonal supply.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How long a cord lasts depends on your home size, insulation, fireplace or stove efficiency, and how often you burn it. A full cord may last 8 to 12 weeks of regular use, but it can last a year or longer when used only occasionally for evening fires, weekend cottage stays, or outdoor fire pits. You may burn through it even sooner if your home or cottage primarily relies on a wood-burning heating system.

Full cord delivery costs vary by location. We calculate the delivery fee based on your address, and you’ll see the exact amount during checkout. We deliver throughout Southern Ontario, including Toronto, the GTA, Cottage Country, and surrounding areas.

Yes. Fairwood Firewood supplies seasoned hardwood (maple, oak, beach, and birch) that has been dried to make it easier to light, produce less smoke, and provide more usable heat than wood with a higher moisture content.

Store your firewood outdoors in a dry, well-ventilated area, raised off the ground and protected from rain or snow above. Keep the sides open for airflow, and avoid tightly covering the entire stack with a tarp.
